Classes & Workshops
Aerobic exercise is sometimes known as “cardiovascular exercise.” During aerobic activity, you repeatedly move large muscles in your arms, legs and hips. You’ll breathe faster and more deeply which maximizes the amount of oxygen in your blood. Your body will even release endorphins, which are natural painkillers that promote an increased sense of well-being.
This exercise will include music, which will allow us to feel more relaxed. Also, it is a great opportunity to improve your health, make new friends and learn skills to enhance your overall well-being. Come join us for an aerobic exercise class! Members can register by calling the Health Education Department at (415) 391-9686 ext. 5843.

Open Volunteer Opportunity: Linda Yu Bien Volunteer Program
We are looking for college students who are interested in pursuing a health-related career for our Linda Yu Bien Volunteer Program. The goal of the program is to expose students to the dynamic environment of a community health center so that they can better understand how health care is delivered to an underserved population. Volunteers will receive trainings from NEMS Health Education Department on how to improve communication skills in a health care setting and learn how to deliver culturally competent health education messages. To learn more about the program, click here. To apply, complete the Volunteer Contact Form and mention the Linda Yu Bien Volunteer Program in your message.
