This is a great soup for this time of the year. I never really considered myself a hardcore cauliflower lover…until I started making this delicious soup.
Whenever I make it I consume a good deal of it. It’s raw and easy to digest, and contains turmeric, which has wonderful anti-inflammatory and alkalizing qualities.
Turmeric is an Ayurvedic spice that has amazing antioxidant properties. It inhibits oxidation and protects us from free radical damage, and also helps us clean up metabolic waste. It also supports our liver, while adding some color to this soup!
Even though it’s raw, I don’t like having this super cold. I like to warm it up to room temperature, which takes about 30 minutes or so out of the fridge, or you can warm it gently over the stove.

Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cauliflower with outer green leaves removed and chopped into pieces
- 3 Tbs. organic unpasteurized miso paste (if you don't have this you can just add more of the high quality sea salt at the end, adjusted to your taste)
- ½ ripe avocado
- 2 cups filtered water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 ½ Tbs. of low sodium tamari
- ½ tsp. turmeric
- Chopped parsley as a garnish
- 1 tsp. Himalayan Sea Salt
Instructions
Add all ingredients and blend until smooth before serving. If you’d like a thinner texture, try adding a bit more water. Enjoy!

I love this soup! It is so amazing. I usually just put like 1 Tbs. of miso, and 1 Tbs. of coconut aminos, and the sodium amount is good for me. I would honestly suggest starting out with that much, or less, and then work your way up to the 3 Tbs. if you have to.

I have tried to print off this particular recipe and the top 2 ingredients to DO NOT PRINT OFF
the main ingredient – Cauliflower hasn’t printed and neither has the top line of the 2nd ingredient miso paste printed. The recipe starts with 1/2 ripe avocado.
I have come across this problem before in trying to print off Kimberly’s recipes – is there anything you can do at your end to fix this???
Thanks for you attention to this matter – it is frustrating!Karen

Hello,
I made this soup last night and it was incredibly salty. I added the exact amount of miso paste however it turned out brown and really revolting. Can’t work out where exactly i went wrong.
Next time i would probably leave out the miso paste altogether?

Same result for me – bitter! Only thing I can think of is that maybe I had used too much turmeric. That was the only ingredient I researched that has a bitter flavor. My soup was also not as light as the photo. It was really yellow. Maybe I’ll attempt this again with just a pinch on turmeric.

I’ve made this recipe exactly as written at least 5 times and love the soup! It’s pureed which may turn off some picky eaters. It has a tangy, slightly salty, and sour taste that I find delicious.Reply
