Social financial trading app arrives
Financial trading can feel like a minefield trying to navigate your way to a profit. Especially if you have no trading experience.
INFINOX launched a new product to market to make trading for beginners a less daunting experience, IX Social.
IX Social is a social app that allows like-minded traders to share their trades and experiences with other traders, otherwise known as Auto-Copy. The app benefits both type of traders. The experienced trader will earn commission by other traders copying their trade. T|he beginner-trader will find profitable traders to follow and copy.
Designing a social brand
Our task was to launch the product into market and work on designing the app and UI.
First task was coming up with the brand and starting with the logo design. As IX Social was part of the INFINOX companies, we kept the logo in the same style as other company logos for consistency. This also applied to the colour palette and typography.
The differentiator with the IX Social brand was always going to be the brand style, messaging and how we marketed it to customers. When developing the brand visuals, the clue was in the name of the product - Social. We came up with a series of imagery showing the professional trader and the inexperienced trader side by side. The brand had to be people-focused. However, it still had to include elements of trading and social icons.
Once the brand style was defined, we worked developing the "Trade anywhere, anytime" campaign to run over various media formats. These included Google Display Adverts and targeted campaigns that would run on all the main social apps such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. We also created a series of regionalised videos promoting the campaign on social media and the IX Social website.
Designing the IX Social app
Before we design any kind of app, we plan out the user experience.
For example, this can include display of the correct information, does the navigation allow the user to easily find what they need.
Thereafter, once we have all the necessary information, we start prototype-designing each of the pages relating to the app. Using Adobe XD, it allows us to design the app in the correct brand style. We are also able to link up pages, show navigation and other features working. nce completed, it allows the client to view a far more detailed pre-develop proof of the app than what you would expect from a traditional wireframe proof.
On approval of the IX Social app design, the app developers work directly with the XD document. Assets, design styles, colouring instructions are all accessible via the XD document, making the app development job a lot easier to complete.
Promoting IX Social
IX Social is a product with a global demographic.
The route to market was mainly via website promotion and social media advertising. Form Agency created a series of Digital display banners for the Google Display Network in multiple languages. Social media advertising was a key strategy with static and animated reels in addition to multiple bespoke video ads. Alongside this, exhibition stands were designed with printed materials for multiple events worldwide.
