'I tried Revlon's Multi Hair Styler and it gave me salon-perfect hair' (2024)

I tried a £75 multi-styler and it has completely changed the way I do my hair. If you're like me and the less effort something takes the better, then this might be the tool for you.

For me, there's nothing quite as stressful as the many different steps it takes to get ready and out of the door in the morning, especially if its a hair wash day. I recently tried out Revlon's One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler and it's made my hair drying/styling routine so simple I almost couldn't believe it.

I'm no professional when it comes to doing my hair - in fact, a lot of the time I'll let it dry in its natural waves and just deal with it. However, my usual process involves using several tools, including a hair dryer, straighteners and a curling wand.

The Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler essentially takes away the middle man and means you can use just one product to get your hair from freshly washed to dried and straight or curled. The multi-styler comes with three interchangeable attachments - including the root-drying concentrator, styling and volumising oval brush, and 360° vented airflow curler.

I gave the multi-styler a go and couldn't believe the results. The instructions say to go in with the root drying attachment first, to ensure some volume and that they're dried properly before using the oval brush on the lengths of my hair.

I usually find my roots take a while to dry, so I was impressed that the Revlon tool seemed to work quickly and efficiently. The 64mm styling and volumising oval brush attachment is easily swapped out and is light and easy to use.

Since I'm usually the type to dry my hair in the fastest way possible, it took me a little while to figure out the best way to use the oval brush. However, I picked it up quickly and found it simple enough to smooth and dry my hair.

The oval brush was ideal for getting my hair straight, but I prefer my hair curly so I was excited to use to 360° vented airflow curler. I definitely found this bit the trickiest, mostly because I'm used to using a curling wand.

Since the tool uses airflow I found it tricky to get the hang of it at first but soon found the right direction and timing for my hair. However, I did find that the curling tool snagged my hair more than I'd have liked.

It took a while to get my hair how I wanted it - probably longer than it would with a curling wand - since my hair struggles to hold a curl sometimes, so it needs quite a bit of heat to get a tight enough curl.

Ultimately, the extra bit of time curling my hair was worth it - I'd spent less time on the routine as a whole thanks to how quickly the root concentrator and oval brush worked. I'll definitely be using the Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler again, especially now I've done the 'trial and error' period!

What do other people say?

The Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler has a 4.5 star rating out of five online, with a number of rave reviews from pleased shoppers. Among them, one person said: "I am very impressed!!! Very easy to use and to change the attachments. My hair looked like after the blow dry done at the hair salon. This might be the best hair styling product I have. It is very versatile."

A second wrote: "Amazing, just as good as my Dyson Airwrap! Will be a part of my daily routine from now on. Highly recommend as its easy to use and gives amazing results."

A third shopper added: "Great styling tool, easy to use I created some amazing looks using this and will be recommending this to family and friends. I especially loved the round brush it was easy to use and created volume. Love love love!"

However, one person said: "Set comes without instructions. Quite heavy . Would be nice to have some more info how to use it (on wet or dry hair)."

Another wrote: "I have used another hot brush styler before and found that this Revlon one wasn’t as good at drying my thick hair. I found that I had to change the brushes multiple times to get my desired look which meant I wasn’t able to take it to use after swimming. It took longer to get my hair dry and it also made it more frizzy. Good product though."

The Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Styler is priced at £74.99 on the brand's website, or it comes in at £69.99 at Boots. Alternatively, a number of other brands offer similar multi stylers including the Revamp Progloss Airstyle - 6 in 1 Air Styler, which is priced at £59.99 at Boots. Revolution Beauty also has the Revolution Haircare Mega Blow Out 6 in 1 Hot Air Brush Set for £49.99, and LookFantastic has the BaByliss Air Style 1000 for £75. BeautyWorks also has the 6-in-1 Aeris Multi Styler for £220.
