Is Tap to Pay on iPhone secure?
Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in features of iPhone to keep your business and your customer data private and secure. When a payment is processed, Apple does not store card numbers on the device or on Apple servers, so you can rest assured knowing your business stays yours.
Additionally, for Square payments, security is engineered into our products. We follow industry requirements to monitor your account for suspicious activity and support your PCI compliance.

How do I set up Tap to Pay on iPhone?
After you download the Square Point of Sale app, you’ll be prompted to connect your Apple ID. Once that’s done, you’re ready to accept contactless payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone.
What payment methods work with Tap to Pay on iPhone?
In Canada, Tap to Pay on iPhone is compatible with contactless credit and debit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Interac, plus Apple Pay and other digital wallets. If your customer does not have a contactless payment method, you can also accept payments with manual card entry, a QR code, or a checkout link in the Square Point of Sale app.
Can I use Tap to Pay on iPhone for transactions of any amount?
Tap to Pay on iPhone can only be accepted to the tap limit set by the cardholder’s financial institution, which is typically set to $250 CAD. Transactions above the tap limit are not supported with Tap to Pay on iPhone, and you and your customer will be prompted to use an alternate payment method like manual card entry.
What iPhones are compatible with Tap to Pay on iPhone?
You will need an iPhone XS or above running the latest version of iOS.
